I'm so old.
How old are you?
I'm so old that:
I remember when gas was 75¢ gallon.
I was around when leg warmers were "in" the first time around.
The young girls in my modern dance class weren't even born when I graduated from high school, and some even before I graduated college.
I can say things like, "I haven't seen that person in 20 years" and I'm talking about someone from high school.
I got the Thriller album when it was released. And it was an actual ALBUM, as in a vinyl record (and, yes, I still have it — along with the Xanadu album {I see that eye roll})
I remember when weekend television programming was AWESOME. Love Boat, Fantasy Island, Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom, The Muppets... Oh, yeah.
The first time I used electronic mail I was in college and the program was in DOS.
I actually say things like, "When I was a kid, we didn't **fill in the blank**" making me sound like the old fogey I am.
Man, that IS old! I think I need a nap.
me too! those brought back some memories.
ReplyDeleteOh, and happy birthday!
ReplyDeleteEhhh, you ain't old. You're younger than me by 345 days! :) Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteJodi's right. Neither one of you is old because you're both younger than me, and I'm not old! Even though I remember DOS well -- AND 5 1/4-inch floppy disks!
ReplyDeleteEvery birthday is good to celebrate because the older you get the more life you have lived. I for one, look forward to each & every birthday - because it's a lot better than the alternative!
ReplyDeleteHappy Bday my friend :)
I'm so old- my first experience with the Internet was on a high school field trip. We were at JPL and the guys were checking the weather on Mosaic (!) and we all thought that was the coolest thing ever. Wow! The weather.
ReplyDeleteBut you're not old at all if you are young at heart.
Alles Gute zum Geburtstag! Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday! Looks like I'm a little bit younger, but only a little bit. Even though I live in Germany, your memories are similar to mine: leg warmers, Love Boat, Xanadu... ;-) And I can say I haven't seen that person in 15 years meaning someone from high school (which you finish later in Germany - I was 19 - than you do in the US because it's 13 years, well, it was, they just changed that).
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday and I think we are the same kind of old. I remember when my Ma got her first microwave oven and they cost a small fortune.
